So I’ve gotten some more requests for whistles, thought I’d get them out of my system. For those that are still counting I’m up to 52 apps. Hoping to hit 100 before the end of the summer. I’m pretty sure I’ve covered all the whistles people could possibly want.

  1. Horse and Donkey
  2. Raccoon and Opossum
  3. Bat
  4. Whale and Porpoise
  5. Frog and Owl

  1. I think you are missing a few. i don’t see a zombie, vampire or werewolf whistle. the dog whistle would probably work on werewolves i suspect though.

  2. Good call, I just got back from the SD zoo as well and got a ton of new ideas for whistles. Unfortunately I’ve hit the limit on known (or freely available in NON-PAID journals) research on ultrasonic hearing in animals, so I may need to do some research before the next one :)

  3. you went to the zoo just to annoy all the poor little animals? you mean person. so what frequency annoys bears? it’s ok you can let me know after they sew your arm back on

    • Hahah I actually use an android tablet for dev work, which doesn’t really work well in a zoo environment. So you could say I was doing field research, or you could say I was watching the tigers eat little chunks of meat. Either way, bears can hear up (generally) from 11 to 22.5 Khz according to accepted research. Not quite as much as most humans can hear.
